A sudden addition to a main street in Bethlehem - this went up in about three days. The trucks bringing the construction materials drove past our offices each day.

This is a new settlement at Rachel's Tomb, smack in the middle of Bethlehem.

It is a weird place for weird people to live in.

The settler house, through a gap soon to be closed......... nice view they'll have going on there......

Al-Waladja, a village on the outskirts of Bethlehem - houses and terraces.

An afternoon at Attar's - a friend from Al-Waladja.

We spent the morning transposing a map of the proposed security fence onto a map of the villages houses and lands. A big red line through 8 houses, a number more in question. 25 demolishion orders have been issued, most of the land will be lost.

We spent the afternoon playing with the kids and eating pizza.

Steve, looking contemplative and purple.

A good view of the settlements of Gilo and Har Gilo that border Al-Waladja.

In the valley there is a zoo, and you can hear the eerie commentary of the tourist train drifting up on the wind.

In the valley are burnt trees and barbed wire fences, stolen land and broken hearts.

It is an unusual place.

The reconstructed house, and some of the guys who live in it.

A UN tent, where residents of Al-Waladja are lucky enough to reside when their houses get demolished. The family who occupied this one were thrown out in January, to watch their house get reduced to rubble. They have 5 children. Their house was rebuilt in April, but has another demolition order on it.
